The Approach

How does one approach an opportunity to make a workplace connection?  How does a believer honestly express their faith in the workplace without offending others?

The Bible provides a clear answer: speak the truth—God’s truth—grounded in Scripture and personal experience. Avoid speaking out of opinion, speculation, or vague interpretation. Use biblical common sense and approach conversations with wisdom and grace.

Think Before You Speak – Use Biblical Wisdom

God didn’t give us a brain just for a hat rack. He designed us to think before we speak and act. When we engage with coworkers about faith, we should speak with purpose, not impulsiveness.

God’s Word calls us to:

  • Be truthful in speech, grounded in Scripture
  • Avoid gossip, exaggeration, or negativity about people or companies
  • Be a positive role model in word and deed
  • Work without complaining or stirring up conflict

Live the Faith Before You Speak It

Witnessing at work isn’t only about what we say—it’s about how we live. God wants us to:

  • Build authentic friendships with no hidden agendas
  • Respect proper boundaries in professional and gender-appropriate associations
  • Accept coworkers as they are, “warts and all”
  • Practice patience, honesty, openness, and humility in every interaction

Encourage, Build Up, and Pray

As we embody Christlike behavior in the workplace, we will naturally encounter opportunities to:

Encourage and uplift those around us

Pray for and with coworkers when invited or prompted by the Holy Spirit

Promote peace and unitythrough godly conduct

Let Work and Ministry Glorify God

This is the heart of workplace evangelism: Letting your life connect faith and work in a way that glorifies God. When your actions reflect Christ, your words gain weight. When your speech aligns with truth and love, your workplace becomes your mission field.

Be blessed until next time…
